Training With Annie Sloan Oxford 2014

One thing I do love is playing around with paint, doing and taking workshops, learning even more about Chalk Paint tm Decorative Paint and of course meeting up with Annie herself! So when the opportunity came up, I was there like a flash.....

I do love seeing and meeting up with other Annie Sloan Stockists, as we all have so much in common and after 5 minutes the group were all great friends, and it was lovely to see several old friends back again (hi Liz, Jane, Cal)...

I was absolutely enthralled by Annie's explanation of how each colour was picked, its pigmentation and positioning on the Official colour card and we all used our Annie Sloan Work Book to add in colours. Its always great to feel our paint (silky, thick but chalky finished) and we all finger painted and mixed various different colours.

I can't help but feel totally inspired after a trip to meet up with Annie, and immediately wanted to rush home and paint something! As anyone who has met Annie will know its a common occurrence...

We all checked out the great studio room now used for training, plus all the demonstration pieces.....
and the great colour mixing books, with really creative combinations of colours, styles and fabrics...

So after a super time meeting up with my fellow stockists, Annie and the team, gilding, stenciling, doing transfers, using the craqueleur, cutting and sticking decoupage pictures....I returned blissfully happy to Devon!
Love Jilly
